For patients with moderate to severe plaque psoriasis with an inadequate response to methotrexate and phototherapy, researchers have investigated whether or not IL-17 inhibitors are an effective treatment strategy.
Core domains patients and health care providers say all clinical trials of psoriasis therapies should measure are skin manifestations, symptoms of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, investigator global assessment, patient global assessment, health-related quality of life, and treatment satisfaction.
Researchers recently examined complementary and alternative medicine therapies for the treatment of plaque psoriasis and identified the most effective treatments.
“Phototherapy is a cost-effective treatment for many dermatoses, yet the emergence of alternative therapies such as biologics led many to think that phototherapy utilization was declining,” researchers explained.
Researchers said, "These findings demonstrated that the collaborative connected-health model is as effective as in-person care in improving patient outcomes."
