Arthritis Med Shortage Ends

After more than three months, the US Food and Drug Administration has declared an end to the shortage of ketoprofen capsules provided by Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc. and Teva Pharmaceuticals.

The capsules are a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory often used to treat arthritis, mild to moderate pain, and menstrual pain. The shortage originally applied to 200 mg extended-release capsules (NDC 0378-8200-01) produced by Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc. and 50 mg immediate-release capsules (NDC 0093-3193-01) and 75 mg immediate-release capsules (NDC 0093-3195-01) produced by Teva Pharmaceuticals.
